Recognized as one of the top physicians on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Dr. David McClendon was born in Newton, Mississippi, and graduated from the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science in Columbus, Miss. He received his undergraduate degree from Mississippi College and attended the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency in Internal Medicine. Dr. McClendon joined Singing River Health Systems as a hospital based physician and later served Merit Health Biloxi as Director of Hospital Physicians, before opening McClendon Medical in Ocean Springs 2016. McClendon Medical Clinic has a NEW location at 22C Doctors Drive in Ocean Springs!

Dr. McClendon is married to Nicole Scardina formerly of Baton Rouge and they have four children: Nicholas, Miya, Lola Kate, and Stella Reese. They are active members of First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs, where he serves as an Elder.

Elizabeth Brushaber

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Nurse Practitioner, Elizabeth Brushaber is a native of Pascagoula. She attended the University of South Alabama and holds both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in nursing.

Elizabeth previously performed critical care in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit at the University of South Alabama Medical Center. She has also worked in plastic surgery as a pre-operative and recovery room nurse, and as an aesthetic injector.

At McClendon Medical, Elizabeth makes a point to help patients feel comfortable and right at home while they receive the very best care available.

Kelly Rhodes

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Nominated for the Mississippi Nightingale Nurse of the Year award for her dedication to nursing and the community in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Kelly Rhodes is an integral part of the McClendon Medical team.

She holds both bachelor of science and master of science degrees in nursing from the University of South Alabama, and is board certified in family practice and adult-gerontology acute care. Kelly has 15 years of Emergency Room experience at three Mississippi Gulf Coast hospitals. As an RN, she served as a charge nurse for twelve years and was an instructor for Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and critical courses within the hospital.

Previously a hospitalist at Merit Health Biloxi, Kelly provided care to hospitalized patients with complex medical conditions, while moonlighting at two local emergency departments. During the onset and peak of COVID-19, she served as a provider and clinical director at an urgent care clinic on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She maintains certifications as a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).

At McClendon Medical, Kelly particularly enjoys getting the chance to focus on and spend more time with her patients to ensure they receive the highest quality of care.

Brianna Campbell

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Brianna Campbell is a Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) originally from Iuka, MS. She has spent the last 12 years in Memphis, TN and now resides in Ocean Springs!

Brianna graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville, MS. She gained an Associate Degree in Nursing (RN), then attended Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). She polished off her degrees at Union University in Jackson, TN with a Master of Science/Family Nurse Practitioner.

Serving as an RN in burn intensive care at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis for 2 years, she then moved to medical ICU for 3 years at Methodist LeBonheur Health Systems in Memphis. She’s worked for the last 8.5 years as an Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner at Cresthaven Internal Medicine in Memphis, TN.
